Reports: Two In Custody, Two On The Run From Police In New Rochelle

A stretch of North Avenue was temporarily closed down in New Rochelle as local and county law enforcement officials searched for two suspects who reportedly stole a car in Westchester County.

There was a heavy police presence in downtown New Rochelle on Thursday afternoon, as officers canvassed the area. According to multiple reports, two suspects were initially taken into custody, with two more fleeing on foot in the area of Garden Street.

The suspects on the run stole a car out of Mount Vernon, according to Talk of the Sound, and were tracked down quickly by a License Plate Reader at the Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center.
